There are way too many shoot a cop in the face types that also try to ingratiate themselves with leos on AR15.com. Or there used to be a few years ago anyway.

ar15.com has a vetted LEO forum now. Really cuts down on all the BS.

LOL. If I quit everytime a stupid policy came down, I would have been gone years ago.

Like snowflakes falling from the heavens, policy builds and builds forming a thickening blanket of insular administration stupid, only to be released into an avalanche of stupidity that will cause you to leave in disgust from your agency.

It is known as retirement and the relief is total.

It kinda depends when you were in.

I started in 1977 ( we had 150MHZ AM radios, and patrolmen had to come in and spell the dispatcher for potty and lunch breaks.) and left my last department April Fool's day, 1990. (Auspicious, ain't it?)

There was probably an ORI on NCIC/CCIC printouts, but I'll be darned if I ever cared or even looked at it. If someone asked, I wouldn't have a clue.

I even had to run the computer terminal when relieving the dispatcher, but he/she always had it logged in.

Now, with all that newfangled high-tech stuff y'all probably use that stuff all the time.

Some people are pretty niave if you think just knowing an ORI is proof someone is a LEO. Do a websearch on "ORI" and "law enforcement". You can easily get the ORI for just about any agency.

You will typically only find an ORI on a finger print card or an NCIC.

Is that why the 2013 issue is coming in a brown wrapper as not to frighten women and children?
