I seem to remember that under the Obama administration an individual flying the American flag upside down meant that they were a right-wing Looney Toon worthy of derision by all and ignored by the media.

    Now it's apparently headline news...

Funny how the hypocrisy of the left-wing media is apparent to all but them and their supporters...

    http://www.khq.com/story/34384300/s...-fears-for-our-country-hangs-flag-upside-down

    SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -

A local veteran is heartbroken over the current state of our country. He said he is lowering his beloved American flag outside his Spokane County home, and displaying it upside down to make a statement that things need to improve.

"I served 20 plus years of my life," Air Force veteran Lamont Worden said. "I’m a patriot."

Worden has flags and other awards and metals from his time serving all over his home. His favorite is always anything that shows the American flag.

"This was given to me when I retired," he said while showing one of them.

Worden said there's nothing he loves more. In fact, when he met Princess Diana, he gave her an American flag. To him, it's the best offering that can ever be made. That's why he said what he did over the weekend was so devastating.

"I love the flag," he said. "I love America, but I’m just heartbroken. I'm very upset about what's happening in our country."

Worden said he was shaking as he turned the flag upside down. He said the display was one of the most difficult things he's ever done in his life. He said this is his way of showing support for the various airport rallies throughout our country over the weekend.

"The flag should never be displayed like this unless there is dire distress or extreme danger to life or property," he said. "Well, that's what I see with this ban on Muslims."

Worden said he's hopeful the bold gesture will generate conversations and possibly even change.

"I fear for America," he said.

I don't think anyone here called her a right wing looney toon.
Called her alot of things for the upside down flag, but never 'right wing'.

Was gonna point out the shoddy proofreading-
"Worden has flags and other awards and metals from his time serving all over his home."
    - then I considered maybe the old guy caught some shrapnel. Then I'd look like quite the silly goose.

I think that the media is behind the sudden appearance of these type of stories. It is known as 'Astroturfing'. Pumping up a fake grass-roots movement. Rush Limbaugh stated it best, "The media has become the opposition party."

Having a job in the military doesn't make you a patriot, nor does it make you more qualified to criticize the country.

    The guys an idiot.

    in the Army.

We have many examples in the in the last administration
    and the Republican Party.

If you don't like America, and if you want to live with people from other parts of the world, it would seem there is an an easy solution for that.

    I agree.

I saw one today where the Louisville protesters were cheered for protesting the Trump immigration order, but the Facebook comments when people in support of the order showed up, were "they're just going down there to cause trouble." Democrats are all about double standards.

Well considering it isn't a ban on muslims, and furthermore, and it isn't even a "ban" at all, I'd say Lamont has a reading/comprehension problem.

It is a moratorium on immigration to the US from "dangerous"** countries.

**Dangerous countries as described by the barry soetoro administration in 2015 and 2016.

Looking at the video, I doubt Lamont has a dozen muslims within a hundred miles.
I'm sure I have hundreds within a dozen miles, plus at least 2 dingy storefront mosques.

    That is actually funny.

Most Americans have no shot of getting a visa or residency permit for any first world country.

Leaving is not as easy as one thinks.

Maybe they could go as refugees, trying to escape the horrifically repressive place the US has become over the last two weeks or so...

Funny how the roles and views suddenly change.

Right wingers who supported it as a patriotic display now see it as an insult. Liberals who were offended by it now thing they are being patriotic.

I didn't see any flags upside down, and I never flew mine upside down, previously.
Not saying it didn't happen by somebody, but now it is seems trendy.

Not kidding, I don't think I've ever seen an upside down flag in real life until now.

Unless you personally are in imminent danger or distress and want immediate intervention, flying the US flag upside down is disrespectful to this country, it's people and every serviceman who gave their lives to defend that flag.

Flying the flag upside down is not a political statement. Just because things are not going the way you think they should, doesn't give you any right to disrespect the flag of this great country.

GROW UP, and stop doing it.
