Really; we have some employees now on their way back to the Midwest who were at a conference at Ft Lauderdale; decided discretion was the better part of valor & joined the exodus. Had to RON in Chicago, but turns out egressing Ft Lauderdale was the prudent thing to do. Hope you FL GSSF'ers remain safe. Fingers x'd. :)

Ditto to the concerns expressed above. Hope that the weather just leaves you with tall grass to mow and doesn't damage anything or anyone! Seriously, to our many friends in Florida, be careful and know y'all are in our thoughts & prayers (as always!). Tony & Donna.

We all appreciate your prayers and concerns. Within the next 72 hours, many of our Glocktalkers, including 5 of our CARVER Mount Team members, and their families maybe exposed to the largest hurricane in history to strike the shores of Florida. This may not be the most powerful but it is the "largest" that has ever hit the coast. Hurricane Frances is over 400 miles wide and currently has winds exceeding 140 mph that are beating up the Bahamas, heading our way.

Your thoughts, prayers and continued support will be appreciated by all of us. As we are all preparing to either evacuate or to "weather the storm" those of us effected by this storm may not get a chance or have the power to keep you informed here on Glocktalk but we will let you know as we can inform you of our safety.

    Thanks to all.
    "May God Bless"
    Bobby and Brenda Carver

Wow... 400 miles wide and 140 mph is worst than any blizzard!

My thoughts are with all Floridians in harms way. Please take care.

    Regards,

Well I wasn't too concerned but now it looks like we're going to get at least a swipe of 80 mph+ winds. I have a bucket lift rented for tomorrow to remove some serious branches on a Pine that's too close to the house. It'll be a good time to trim a couple of trees at my parents house as well. :(

I guess I don't have anything to complain about since Charley missed us but I don't look forward to what may come. It's possible this one will even mess up our Statesville trip. Time will tell. :(

Currently Tampa has the highest probability listed on the west coast by 2 PM Sunday. At least I don't live in Ft. Pierce! :) Currently the projection carries it slightly north of us, BUT, no storm surge since it's coming overland to us! That's a good thing. :)

Hang in there friend, but be safe. This is a Really Big One right now. I will check out your thread in GNG. It might help to carry it also to the GSSF Forum as well because there are a lot of us in Florida shooting GSSF and very close friends.

We're already getting more wind than we got from Charley. This is interesting, smaller storm, further away and it is already causing more problems. We've already had some power lines arcing. Wierd. ^8

Jerry , think on the positive side, another chance to practice GSSF in the rain and wind, your gonna be tough if it rains at Statesville.Just a little sick NJ humor, hey act like a turtle and keep your head and tail pulled in your shell. Who loves ya baby.;) ;) ;) Were thinking of all you Floridians.
