I don't know about your line of work, but in my line of work, when mistakes get made, people get hurt or killed not to mention millions of dollars on the line.

Granted it's a little bit more sophisticated than checking a gun for serial number and somehow not being able to see the big ass crack that runs down the slide...

In police work a mistake can also get someone killed, but most mistakes don't.

I saw the picture of the slid that the OP took. I am not convinced it looked that bad in the store for the clerk and the customer to miss it, not to mention whatever QC there is al Kel-Tec.

But neither of us will ever know.

Mistakes need to be addressed appropriately, and some of the comments in this post are just cheap shots.

Cheap shots by folks not present at the scene.
    Normal for GT.

To give the gunstore an opportunity to respond, here is their response to an email I sent them.

Surprised the GT goons have not burned this shop to the ground?

Difference between a cheap shot and a well placed emoticon.

If this is what happened, then I'd be fine with the gun shop, and I would shop there, and I would support them.

If the OP's link to the other version of events was true, I would not have been fine with the situation. And I offered suggestions as to how the customer could get satsifaction in such a situation.

On GT, and on the internet, we can only go from the OP's initial story, and then say what we would do from there, if that scenario is true.

So, does this handgun have a big ass crack down the slide as shown in the photo, or does it not?

If it does then somebody's incompetence at both Kel-Tec AND the shop let the gun through the system. How many times have this gun been handled and "supposedly" inspected for serial number verification?

This point hardly anyone cares or knows.

Seriously, only the owner and buyer really know.
And depending on one's stand, which do you believe?
Most picked a side early on.

True, all I said was that when I purchase a Glock from them, the box is sealed. I didnt mention the part about when the transaction is completed, the "sealed" box is open by the purchaser and FFL to verify the SN. Some people like the choice of being the "first" to touch the gun. I've been to alot of stores where the gun has been fondled by customers and sold like that with their greasy fingerprints still on them. :freak:

On a side note, I'm on my way to B&H to give them my support and purchase another firearm from them. :wavey:

The owner is a ATF agent. I have bought many blue labels from them and have never had issues. I will continue to buy with them.
