People don't understand that nature is a constant battle to eat and survive... Sadly, lesson learned.

Another pit bull named Tank. Why is there no creativity in dog naming these days? Every pit bull I meet is either Tank, Abrams, or Max.

When I lived in FL years ago, gators were HIGH protected. I think it would have been a felony to shoot a gator unless it was attacking a human.

    I doubt that's changed much.

Which does GT consider more friendly? Gators or Pits?

J/k - This May be a case where if you don’t want your dog to be killed somehow (run over, shot by neighbor, eaten by alligator) then you need to keep it on a leash when it’s not fenced in. Sucks, but lesson learned, hopefully. Was the pond in her fenced in yard? If so, I guess the answer is don’t move to Florida or else be ok with your dogs and young kids getting snatched up from time to time.

“All I could do was stand there and watch my dog get eat,” she said. “And I just don’t want it to happen to no one else or a kid or anything.”

I've got no problem walking right up on an unknown gator. They'll let you stand five feet behind them and not react in the slightest. I can't say the same about an unknown dog of any significant size.

It's against the law to feed or molest alligators. I hope that woman isn't charged.
