Anyone know how many fish gill Glock slides were put into circulation before being dumped by Glock? Curious if mine will become a collector piece?

The Instructor would like for everyone to purchase more Glocks.

Not many i reckon. Were it not for shooter's sense of fashion ;) they'd stay. I think they definitely improve purchase/traction.

I would think many, many thousands were made if you count all models. If you want a collectible I have a NIB Glock Anniversary Edition G17 in which only 2006 were made and signed by Gaston.

when i went to use my GSSF purchase certificate i was thinking rtf2 and fish gills, just because i thought it might be more desirable one day. my order of preference was G19, G17, G23. opened two new seals on two boxes (G19 & G17) and only the G17 had the fish gills. too many 19s had been sold prior to that, so it was most unlikely that there was still an rtf2 gill in stock.

i'm happy with my 17, though it also seems that a whole lot more G17s rtf2 with fish gills were made -- and are still available. not a collector's item, per se, but i wasn't really looking for that. just a choice that might make the gun more interesting down the line.

i also could have gotten a gen 4 for the same price, but i had seen a few "ify" reports about gen 4 issues, so i passed. besides, gen 4s will be around for the foreseeable future -- should i ever decide to go that way.

    Here you go.
The two pictures of the sights are not on the G17 AE.
