Just registered there today, I had posted a while back about the Model 10 trade ins buds had years back. Found a pretty clean one on GB.

My first time using them, anything to watch or look out for? I bided on it and somebody else already put a higher bid in, the auction has six days left.

Clearly I will only go to a certain point, as to what that is I haven’t decided yet. Does it ever get kinda wild when the auction is nearing a end?

I think they have a 15 minute rule if someone tries to slide at the last second.
The auction goes another 15 minutes each time that happens to let others counter offer.

Don't bid until last few minutes. People enter their bid but it only goes up in the incriments until they are winning. That's why a higher bid has already been placed. As a rule at the end of bidding people only bid one or two bid incriments above current bid. I try to bid 75-100 more depending what it is and price. Also bid some change to Dollar amount so it takes more than just the dollar increment to beat you.

I introduced a friend to GB few years ago when I was in Texas. It was like he was on crack, he bought 6 guns in less than two weeks.

Good to know thanks. Worked with a guy years back that was hooked on it but I never asked him about it.

When you log in to your account, go into the completed listings of the buyer, or the item you are looking for. This will give you an idea of the market on that particular item. You can use this for both buying and selling strategy.
I recommend SportsmansSupply A+(282442) out of Butler PA... they are a top 10 Seller of just about everything and their service is excellent.

Another thing I'll throw out for your consideration is to not get stupid and take a I'm going to win no matter what and drive up cost beyond value of the item. The exception would be something unique or difficult to find. Watch more of same item to get an idea what they sell for not asking price but selling price.

    It’s a Smith 10-8 model 10, probably won’t do more than 375 on it.

Some people treat Gunbroker like a video game and keep bidding small increments to beat the other bidders. You can avoid all that drama by just determining at the beginning what your max bid is. Bid that much and the proxy bid system will only increase your bid if someone else bids. You will never go higher than what you originally decided the gun was worth so you cannot bid more than your max. And if the bidding goes higher have the self control to step away and not get sucked into upping your max bid at the last hour when all the rapid bidding occurs.

I’ve bought a few from GB without issue.
Don’t forget to factor in shipping cost of course and note some sellers charge cc fees and state taxes, some don’t.

What i learned, and it seems obvious, and that is, never be among the first to bid. Wait untill the last few hours of bidding and look for guns that haven't had too many bid on them and where the bidding hasn't got very high.

I got a good price on a New model Ruger Blackhawk 41 magnum. pre-warning label barrel that was "Hidden" on one of the last pages of listings for 41 magnum Blackhawks. It was worth the time to go though all those pages.

Also the seller owned a gun shop and had a good rating as a seller. I think the key to success with Gun broker is to never be in a hurry to get the gun you want.

Really? two and a quarter is what I paid for mine. No turn ring to mention when I bought mine just holster and sweat wear on the back strap, maybe a year and a half ago. Watch the pricing. Mine has plenty of holster wear so it wasn't worth much. Ask for more pictures.

I've used GB a few times to locate and purchase some hard to find items. It's always worked well for me. Sorry, no real tips to offer.
