Had the first half of my pistol class tonight. It was awesome! I'm totally hooked.

Here is my first 9 shots with a Ruger .38

Looks like I hit that same spot above the 10 three times.

Yup first time with a pistol.

I've shot rifles and shotguns in the past.

My first gun will be a gen 4 19 but the revolver was awesome! I hit those close ones with single action. I like the feel of single action.

Congrats... Ruger makes great revolvers. I've taught many new shooters w/ my GP100. That's pretty good shooting for the first time, even if it is at 3-5yds. I think the very first time I pulled the trigger (on a Ruger 9mm pistol) I didn't even hit the paper at 5yds I was so nervous. :). That was my first time firing any sort of gun.

Glad you found the joys of shooting. Now, remember when you're in the voting booth on Nov 6, there are politicians who would just assume you not have the right to bear arms. Be informed when you vote, and if they don't support your rights, don't give them your vote.

Keep "training up". Keep practicing too, there's lotsa free training videos on youtube too. As long as you pocket book can afford it for buying ammo.

Lotsa advice too here on GT. :wavey:

I can castrate an insect with my Marlin 336 from the next zip code but can't do that well with any of my handguns if I stuffed the paper target down the barrel. Nicely done. HH

    Thanks IGF.

Yes I'll vote for the right team but being a New England common sense driven conservative, I wish we could lose the nut jobs like Bachmann, Inhoff, etc. They poison the right.

Yeah I've been watching tons of YouTube stuff. Hickock 45 has some great videos.

I'll be shooting once a week minimum.

You might as well take out a loan now. You're going to need it for all the ammo! It's an addicting hobby for sure.

Great to hear you enjoyed it. I find shooting holes in paper is really fun. Pricey, but fun.
Handguns seem to provide more "empowerment" to shooters.

Look into reloading, especially .38 special.

    A very rewarding experience.
