Took the new G22 RTF2 out today, put 150 rounds through it.

Loved it, minus the RTF grip. Damn thing tore my hand up!

Love the grip though feels better then a plain grip IMO.

Was I holding it wrong or does the RTF just love to eat skin?

Thinking about doing the inner tube grip modification. Any suggestions on size of inner tube or technique to get it on? I tried doing some searching but only found a few threads with not much information on the application process, more just pictures of it already finished.

I think it may be your hands are too soft lol. I love mine but the more you carry and shoot the weapon the grip will actually loose some of the abrasiveness. I bought mine when thet first came out and I can already tell a difference. A friend bought one a week after i Bought mine and he actually used a real mild scuff pad and knocked it down a little. It's one of those deals where it all depends on what you like.

I think that may be it. I do have soft hands. Its strange cus I could told that all the time and I don't know why, I never use lotion or anything. I am a mechanic and I have always worked on cars and no matter what my hands are always abnormaly soft.

I think the inner tube on the grip may be just what I need. I think I'll pick one up tomorrow from Wal*Mart.

I am in the exact same boat as you.

I just picked up my G22 RTF2. Put almost 150 rds in it (I think like 138), and it was very rough at the bottom of the grip and tore up the bottom right part of my palm of my left hand (I'm left handed). Everywhere else was fine just that bottom part of the grip on my palm. And I don't have soft or clamy/sweaty palms.

But I love the gun! Pretty darn accurate and fun to shoot.

if possible handle it throughout the day regularly, you'll get used to it.

exactly what i did with my 19rtf2. I'm much more used to it now. IMO the grip is very superior to the regular grip

Do you use abrasive hand cleaners with the granules in them? Maybe that is working like a woman's apricot facial scrub?

LOL, I just use regular soap.

I went and got a bike tube, cut it and had it on it a matter of minutes, fits nicely and feels SOOO much better.

Grab a shovel and do some yard work for a few hours. Then your RTF will feel like baby skin.

    That's what I use.

Is there a trick to getting it on there? I did my G34 in a hurry before a match last week and was dropping F bombs like crazy. Works great once you get it on.

It will only rub and hurt if it is moving when you fire it, try a more aggressive grip.
