Just brought home my new Glock 19 Gen4. Will be reading the manual for the next period of time. I have had a firearm safety class, have my Concealed Carry Permit and have done some target shooting with a Glock, but always with a range rental. Once I get the basics of cleaning before first use down, I guess I'll be heading back to the range to learn more about how MY new Glock handles. Any thoughts, tips, suggestions are appreciated. This is all really very new to me.
Thanks in advance for your kind words.

Congratulations on your new Glock. A quick perusal of the manual will probably help with some questions. I am sure any questions could be answered here quickly.

Congrats on your first Glock! I just purchased my first one (30 SF) a couple of weeks ago and am very pleased with it. I concur, if you have any questions these people can be a wealth of info. I had an issue with my slide....self induced I might add, and they were here for me. Hint: after you remove the clip and check the chamber, after you pull the trigger, do not move that slide back too far to remove it. It re-engages the trigger! I learned the hard way...lol.

    Safe shooting!

    Congrats!!

I also just became the proud new owner of a GEN4 19, awesome gun!

The manual should provide all necessary functional questions you have. Be safe and enjoy the GLOCK quality.

This forum should have a G4 19 section all to itself for all of the issues that are surfacing.

Congrats. I'm glad to see you taking all the right steps toward responsible gun ownership. And also that you didn't post any plans to immediately modify your very first Glock. Stock Glocks rock!

Have fun, and be safe! :wavey:

Congrats on your new G19. Got mine in Sept and love it.
Watch out for the "Glockitis" that usually follows the 1st purchase of a glock. I just got a brand new G20. Glocks are addicting!!! I'm sure there are more to follow.
    Enjoy!

I think the more appropriate term is Glockoma. Everything you see will be glocks from now on.

They should have their own section, the conversion disorder section.

Staff it with all the seals and "operators" who hang out at my local gun store, at least you can look at them and tell they cant find their ass with both hands.

Seriously WTF is up with all the sockpuppet spam on this forum these days. Every new thread going to go this way? I bought a new <whatever>, oh god op, did you hear that is a terrible weapon and they all have problems...

OP enjoy your gun, it is used by federal agents and countless LEO communities in the US. Glock sells millions of dollars of G4 guns to the FLETC and FBI as well as naval special warfare and army folks who get to choose their sidearms.

Thousands of G4 19s are in service with the same people who applied stringent controls to the SW1076 10mm.

Ignore the hype, enjoy your pistol.

Congrats on your new G19, and welcome to GT!

AZoom snap caps and lots of dry fire to learn the trigger will help out a lot. Have fun, and enjoy your new Glock!
