Buying my first Glock off of a fellow on this forum. I figured I'd start with a bang so she's a G20

My first Glock (actually my first handgun too) was also a 20 (mine is an SF). You will love it. It feels great to shoot and it's so loud I've had people poke their heads around the dividers at the range and ask if I was shooting a Desert Eagle.

I unfortunately have had a minor problem with mine. I think it is just a magazine-related issue though. Twice now, with the same magazine I'm pretty sure, the last round of the mag has failed to feed. The slide locks back as if the mag were empty.

Now this has only happened twice, and after that it shoots fine the rest of the day, but I have not exactly figured out why this is. I have two guesses:
    1. Either I am accidentaly putting pressure on the slide stop and when the slide retracts I push the slide stop up, locking it open, or...
    2. The magazine has a defective spring. One of the two mags that came with mine seems to have a spring that rattles around an awful lot. If I put five rounds in each mag and tap them against my palm I can hear the spring rattle around in one but the other is completely silent. I have to give Glock a call when I get a chance.

Other than that, which seems like a very minor issue to me, the gun has been a lot of fun and if I could go back in time I'd buy the 20SF again without hesitation.

    I love it.

The G20 is a good one. Now you need to contact Buffalo Bore and DoubleTap.

    He means for ammo.

Double Tap and Buffalo Bore make just about the hottest rounds you can buy for 10mm. Definitely look into them.

Nice to meet a fellow Z06 owner, too. Is yours stock? All I have is the Mild 2 Wild. Best $90 I have ever spent.

    Hunting or self defense?

The light fast stuff great for self defense (quick expansion dumping energy fast) with one hell of a blast. Heavy stuff tends to go with hunting (Deeper penetration). But all can be tailored to fit the need. I would get a small assortment of all of them and see what shoots well for "you" and go from there.

You will love shooting the 10MM in the G20.

    here, now
Buy ammo carefully right now. Shortages of bullets have forced Buffalo Bore and Doubletap to start substituting Montana Gold bullets for Hornady XTP's and I've heard that the Gold Dots (BB)are being substituted with another bullet as well.

Your best bet right now might be the 175g Winchester Silvertip...or reload.
