You do not need luck, just a lot of ammo.:)

Methinks there will be only one problem with it: My wife won't give it back.

I'm also a 1911 fan, and really wanted a Para-Ordnance, but the 36 conceals well on me (5'10", 140lbs, not much room to hide a doublestack), and Glocks have the best reputation for reliability.

Plus, the 36 is the first Glock to fit my hand well and be .45ACP. Although I might try a 30 with a grip reduction.

I have enjoyed my 36 and take DannyR's advice and buy plenty of ammo you'll need it. It is amazingly accurate and a blast to shoot. Have fun and be safe.:)

OK, I took it to the range and put 150 rounds thru it. More muzzle blast and flip than I'm used to, but manageable.

Pretty darn accurate. Could get two shots in one ragged hole at 25 feet multiple times. Could get 10 shots in space the size of palm of my hand at 25 feet. I consider that accurate enough for my needs.

The trigger took a LOT of getting used to. I'm used to squee-e-e-e-e-ezing the trigger and having the BANG be a surprise. I finally figured out that the best thing to do with this pistol is to do the opposite: Squeeze firmly and sharply, with ay-thori-tay,

1 jam on 13th shot, but it was because I limpwristed it.

I'm impressed. I wouldn't shoot it for fun, but I'd trust it as a CCW piece.

Now, a grip reduction to get rid of arched grip would make it perfect for me (small hands).

Is it possible to replace the barrel with the long barrel from the fullsize .45?

I am a firm believer in this weapon as a carry gun. Small but powerful. Manageable recoil. Eats bullets like they're going out of style. I use a Hi-Viz dot site on mine. I put that green dot on what I want to hit, pull the trigger and then there is this big hole where I aimed. You can't get better than that. Eats Cor-Bon +P's too. Yummy!

    IIRC, no. Different geometry.
