Monday nite about 5:10pm looked out to the feeder and saw this fine specimen standing there minding his own business. The range was 70 yards. Had my 7mm RemMag and my Rock River .223 with Black Hills 68 grain heavy hollow points with me. I decided to break the .223 in I shot one time from 70 yards quartering away, hitting him in the lungs. He leapt 5-6' in the air and then ran off. No blood to speak of. When I found him he ONLY went 30yds from where I shot him! Needless to say I am very impressed with the performance of the gun and the ammo. Granted he dressed out at 70 pounds and was not an Alberta monster, however, dead deer don't lie.
