It happened to me a few months ago one time and I didn't really think anything of it, because it didn't cause any problems, but yesterday it did it again (again no firing problems at all) but makes me mildly concerned about it.
G19 -- all stock innards less than 3000rds. After I fire a round, trigger reset for next shot, and about a half second later I hear a small ping.... pin block or firing pin reset back into channel? couldn't determine. It went bang every time. So when I get home I took the slide apart. Checked the firing pin and spring assembly, the pin block and spring assembly. Everything looked fine, the stricker channel was the slightest bit dirty, but a few simple dry (yeah no oil is used here) swabs cleared it out. Dry-cycled it several times, all with no problems.
Is there something I'm missing, or is it just "one of those things" and all the moving parts will cycle every time regardless where the firing pin sits?
    Thanks.

You're not missing anything, it's fine.
