I wish they'd release binary patches....this reinstalling every other week business is not making me happy.

Windows Update has spoiled me. It does it without even bugging me.

The other security updates could be fixed thru an XPI patch, however to fix this secuity flaw required a new build.

So I finally got all my plug-in's to work right and now I have to download the fixed copy and start over from scratch? Considering it took me awhile to get the spell checker going right that would be frustrating. :(

It installs the new version of mozilla into the same folder. It will automatically move your favorites and recognize any plug-in's that you have.

    Don't install it.

Download the zip file version and just run it from the folder.

When I need to update I just delete the old version and download the new zip file.

Uninstall the old version first. Chose to "not" remove the Firefox folder. Install the new version into that folder. All the extensions will work. Mozilla highly recommends that you not install over an existing version.

As far as the spell checker goes, it's no longer a fight to get it to work. You can get the Spellbound extension that installs right from that website and works perfectly. It doesn't even matter whether you use the zip or downloaded version. Check it out!
