So after a longer than expected wait, I finally got my DD upper to accompany my Spikes lower that I had built a while back. I got the upper last month, had to send it back because the front pivot pin hole on the upper was out of spec, it was honed by DD, got it in the mail from UPS today.
Here's my thread from the lower build
    http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1305089
I put an Magpul grip, along with Magpul flip up sights on the upper, along with some ladder rail covers on the upper. I haven't shot it yet, I put the grip pretty far out on the rail because I want to use a "thumbs forward" grip like I do with handguns. Of course, some pics of the finished product!

Why is the rear MBUS so far forward?

    NICE!

Well done. Now, when will the range report be posted?

I didn't even notice that, I just moved it back as far as it can go, it hovers over the CH just a tiny bit when folded down, is that the way it's suppose to be? It doesn't seem to interfere with manipulations at all.

It's to far forward. The front of the site should be behind the trigger. You want it as far back as possible.

    Back to the OP:
That rifle isn't finished, they never are. Optics, light, sling, it never stops. Then you'll want a different upper, which will make another lower materialize. Welcome to BRD.

That is a beautiful rifle. You can add optics, lights & slings.....or not. 6 of one, half-dozen of another. Can you give us the specs on the upper please?

Pretty much what I was going to say. Looks great, but not finished.

For instance, my BRD has turned into FDERD.

Looks great,......however, it seems an AR is never "finished"

    Congrats!

Fixed it, that's as far back as it'll go. Still haven't shot it yet, I'm a little nervous to as I've only shot an AR one time before.

I'm honestly thinking about selling it for a few reasons. I know I'm going to dump a bunch of money for an optic, more accessories, expensive ammo. One of the main reasons is that I'm limited to only being able to shoot at indoor ranges, which obviously don't provide a long enough distance that I would like to shoot at. I would be able to shoot it outdoors in the summer only, along with having to drive hours.... At the same time I know I'll probably keep it, once I shoot it I know I'll be hooked and the BRD will be in full effect... I'll say my prayers for my bank account...

You need to remedy that STAT! Make sure you know your fundamentals, even if you're shooting off a bench. You don't need expensive ammo for <300yds either, so don't waste money on 77gr match ammo for 50yd practice.

I actually have my MBUS2 in the T2 notch. That way the windage knob doesn't interfere with the right side of the charging handle as much. Although I have a BCM Gunfighter and really only use the left side of the CH.

Definitely shoot your rifle and don't even think of selling it!

So, you haven't shot it yet, but you're already thinking of selling it?

    1. If you have to drive hours to shoot outside, you haven't looked hard enough close to you. Since you're in Minnesota, I'm willing to bet if you Google sportsman/shooting club on Google maps, you'll find something close.

    2. If you haven't shot outside in bad/cold/winter weather, you're missing one of life's fun times.

    3. Iron sights are fine, and an optic doesn't need to cost that much.

    4. Buy M193 in bulk, or just shoot cheap Russian stuff if your rifle will eat it.

Don't let an emotional reaction like buyers remorse cause you to throw away money.
