finish touch up

    I'm an AR newbie so please be gentle. My AR has a deep scratch on the lower, hate to sound silly but i dont like it . Is their a way to touch it up ? Any special paint to use ?

    I have this super industrial strength sharpie thing that is like tar... I'll have to check it to see what it is exactly but it hasn't rubbed off anywhere yet, including my fingers.

    It's not that supermarket torpedo looking one.

    I did some searching when I tried to find a great product to put a finish on part of a barrel - the aluminum black (BC) was mentioned, but Brownell's oxpho-blu had a lot more fervent support. Not sure if it was intended more for applications that would get pretty hot, but I used the "creme no-drip" formula of Oxpho-blu and it worked very well. took two applications - fool proof, no mess, permanent. I haven't used any other product, so I can't compare it.
