I was told that Glock usually shows up at GSSF matches with pre-ban mags for sale CHEAP (orange ones). Somebody showed me some that he'd picked up that way in San Antonio last year.

Is this true?? ;d Here's my quandry ... I only have 2 magazines and want to pick up 2 more before attending the Dallas GSSF in May.

*IF* I can rely on getting some hi-caps there at a reasonable price then I'll just hold off and do that before I shoot. But I don't want to be dissapointed and (worse yet) only have 2 magazines with me for the match.

There's a gun show here in Austin this weekend, so I'll get them there if I have to.

Anybody got the scoop on this?

    Thanks,
    ChickenHawk

The orange mags are usually around $50 each. The only models they have in stock are for the G20 and G23. Occasionally, I've seen some really beat-up demo mags there for a G17 or 22. The other orange mags are new.

Since GSSF is 10-round only, I'd recommend getting a couple more 10 round mags. Pick up the big ones at the match if you have the appropriate model gun.

At one time (around 1999), Glock had orange mags for most guns. They were sold at the GSSF matches. Now, the last ones left are the G23 mags (and I don't remember seeing any in Anderson). So, I don't know if these are still available. See ya in Carrollton! Tony Clemens.

The only orange mags left at Anderson were G23 mags. By the time the Dallas match gets here, they will probably be all gone. There may be a vendor selling Glock accessories, but you might fine some extra mags cheaper on line. There will be a Glock factory armorer there providing free labor and any parts needed free.

I guess it's a good thing I bought 4 orange mags for my G20 while they still had some in stock.

I have seen orange G22 mags offered for sale on line. They seem to go for the same price as the black mags.

    Chickenhawk,
If you can handle new 10-rd mags, you can try Ivanhoe's Warehouse outlet (http://www.ivanhoeoutlet.com) -- if they've got what you need in stock, they're $16 ea with free shipping if you order $25 or more. I know that they were out of G17 mags earlier this week (and don't do backorders;g), but never hurts to keep checking. I've bought some from them before and received good service (including when I called and said I was shorted on my order -- they checked the weight on the package shipped and said it seemed low, so they completed the order, again with no shipping).

Another cheap supplier is CDNN Investments (http://www.cdnninvestments.com). I've never bought from them, but their prices are about the same except you pay shipping.

    HTH;f, and good luck.
