I've had my GSSF coupon for 6 months and i've been meaning to take plunge but kept buying 1911s... :whistling:

Finally started calling around and apparently Glocks are on back order... I was set on driving about an hour away to pick up a Glock 17 (i figured a 9mm would be cheaper to shoot...) but figured i'd stop by the local GSSF dealer...

25 min later i walked out with the paperwork for the last Glock 36 that they had in stock. No other 9mm or 45acp pistols were available and i saved myself the headache of traveling in Friday rush hour...

I have to wait for the paperwork to be processed since MD only allows me to purchase one handgun every 30 days (and i just recently picked up a Compact Springfield 1911.. but im itching! I cant wait to ensure its reliability and leave the LCP at home.

I have no complaints with the Compact 1911s in terms of reliability or accuracy but they are heavy... the idea with the 36 is that i'll have all the goodies of the 1911s, with less weight.. and arguably a more durable finish.

    Giggity!

Congrats. The 36 carries like a dream. Lightweight, compact and slim. Get the Pearce +0 mag extensions and don't limp wrist it and you should be fine. Mine has 850 through it so far with zero malfunctions. So far it feeds, fires and ejects everything.

Congrats!! My G36 is my favorite carry pistol. Lighter than my 1911s and the same cartridge. It doesn't get much better than that. :)

Congratulations. It's advantages over an Officer sized 1911 in addition to its uncanny reliability out of the box is why I wanted it. It fits my G23/27 holsters, too.

Mostly agree, but be carefully. Some holsters that are for 27-26-33 do not quite cover trigger as well as some may like. Just fit test it or make sure you can return it. 36 is a great gun very comfortable iwb.

Now let's debate, is 45 better than 9mm and is 7 rounds enough?

Heading to the range to spend some quality time with my son and my G36/G19. ;) Going to try out some Hornady 185gr CD ammo. I've been shooting 230gr since I got it a couple months ago. Enjoy your new 36. I carry mine daily.

Oh, and so far they both fit the same holsters (3) nicely.
