now im gonna start building my "standard" gun...
(doc, malayo pa ko sa open... too expensive for me)

    sps frame, sps slide

for other parts pls comment on what brands are good
and pls give approximate amount and where i can purchase them

    barrel
    beavertail
    slide stop
    ambi safety
    barrel link
    disconnector
    sear
    hammer
    extractor
    firing pin
    firing pin stop
    ejector
    hammer strut, pins, sear spring
    firing pin spring
    recoil spring

thanks! btw, sorry if the list is long... i totally have no idea
where to get the parts and how much...

also, have i missed anything that i need for this build?

planning to spend only 5-10k per month only so this will take
most probably a year or two...

try first option for barsto barrel. dati selling for 16k
ed brown ambi safety, 3300 kuha ko at trueweight last july

masyado mahaba ang pila ng gunsmithing sa PBD. it will take 3-4 months bago matapos pistol mo. si mark nakapila pa rin open pistol niya from last july pa yata.

try mo din first option kay vic mangibin. si mang delfin gunsmith doon.

    Doc,

Para sa Para40 ko, for a bull barrel, which would you recommend barsto or schuemann?

Congrats PONG sa first laban mo last Sat. Buti ka nga nasa pang-kalahati agad. Ako, nung mga unang laban ko, palaging pang 5th-kulelat. hehe! Ngayon, after 10 months...pang 6th nako sa kulelat.

    +1 sa first option ^c

Don't buy a barrel link since you might get the wrong size. During fitting, the gunsmith will know what size you need to get, better yet they can fabricate one for you.

wala ka na yata mahanap na schuemann barrel dito. stop production na yata sila e. barsto or kkm ang gamit ng mga smiths sa US ngayon. SPS is made by Lothar Walther in Germany. STI ok din.

but the stock barrel is fine. to improve accuracy, change to a match bushing. get an egw or ed brown bushing.

I droped by Col Bayang's shop today he made an estimate for labor cost for my open gun and it came to 11,500 complete with hardcrome. and his estimate is about 1 week work time. the price and turnover sound good. any comments on his work?

    pong,
the kings beavertail in twinpines seem to be almost the same as edbrowns it just lacks the memory groove and the price seems good.

slide stop- edbrown hardcore or egw
ambi safety- edbrown or kings (pricewise cmc sounds good)
disconnector- extreme engeneering, egw and cmc(mim)
sear- extreme engeneering, egw and cmc(mim)
hammer- extreme engeneering, koenig and cmc(mim)
    extractor- aftec
    firing pin stop- edbrown hardcore
    ejector- egw
    firing pin spring- wolffe
    recoil spring- wolffe

malutong ang bakal ng CMC, madali mabasag. stick with EB or King's ambi.

Col. Bayang does good work. although i have not had any pistol done by him, the ones i've seen are well made.

Pong i suggest get a steel gun like a armscor. mura. Also recoil is not so harsh like plastic guns.

more important is that it holds more bullets than the s_i frame. Most top standard shooters in the philippines use steel frames. i can only count 2 using s_i.

    good luck

    McO,
basically I told him I had all the parts and asked for an estimate of the cost and he broke it down to this. the setup I want is similar to Doc ec no barrel porting comp lang.

    setting of sight mount--------1,500
    rail fitting------------------1,000
    cut slide and thread barrel---1,500
    install beavertail and ambi---1,500
    ramp barrel setup-------------1,500
    trigger pull--------------------500
    fabricate slide cocker----------900
    hard chrome-------------------3,500

by the way I saw a brandnew wilson combat barrel with comp and bushing. selling for 9,000 yata yun wilson/nowlin ramp yata. pwede yata yun sayo kung wilson/nowlin ramp yung frame mo.yun lang open na kaagad yung baril mo ,diba .40 yung slide mo? eh di hindi na kelangan palitan. pwedeng 2 in 1. hehehe ;N

    Mr. President,
di naman kelangan ng convincing powers napadaan lang ako at nagtanong binigyan na ako ng breakdown and estimate.
