Got the 9rd 20" with the heat shield and speed feed stock. I am very pleased with how easy the thing points, and I think with a flashlight or even a laser, it will be tough to be for home defense.

I'll still keep my Para P14.45LTD in the nightstand, but the 590 will now be my go-to weapon for things that go bump in the night.

Get a light. I have one with a tail cap switch that is in a barrel clamp and works great. Couple hundred of rounds through it and it outlasted my surefire forend.

Good choice on a shotgun. It will outlast you.

Here is a picture of an inexpensive light on the same shotgun. $15 for light and $10 for 1in clamp. It outlasted my surefire forend and is lighter on the gun. I would get an LED light now and will be replacing the brinkman with a streamlight Polytac. $35 much brighter lasts longer. I like this shotgun more than the 590A1 with the surefire forend that I have. I also put a limbsaver slipon recoil pad. Takes the sting out of the slugs and 3in buckshot.
