OK, I know I've consistently been going back and forth on a 1911 for at least 2 years now. Almost bought this one, then that one. I even got very close to getting the NH Falcon. I was just a bit concerned when I found out that Nighthawk's new finish Black Nitride/Melonite requires a special cleaner (Gibbs). NHC now has a warning on using anything else and on the newer guns they are sending out 5oz of Gibbs with their guns. It's just that it took several customers to complain about other cleaners blotching the finish before they cam out with this warning. I know Wilson would never have done that. WTH, didn't NHC do their homework first?

Anyway, I decided to stick with a Wilson. I was looking at NIB Professionals, but the prices of all I could find seemed too steep. So I decided to look on Gunbroker for a CQB. Well, I found one that I liked. Only thing I'm not crazy about are the FCS, but they are much smoother than other manufacturers. That was my biggest concern.

So, I just mailed out the Cashier's Check, FFL copy for a NIB CQB with Gold dot front sight, for my aging eyes, with the extra dehorn (not extreme like a bar of soap) and Black armortuff slide over Grey frame. It's a 09/12 build and I priced it out to $3010 MSRP plus shipping. I negotiated a bit with the dealer and got it for $2600 including second day air! I think I did pretty good!

Now, I just have to wait until Thursday for it to arrive since my dealer will be off Mon through Wednesday and the gun is being shipped on Wednesday. I guess he's waiting for the check.. Then I get to wait for the amendment onto my carry permit, ten more days. :crying:

Anyway, here are a few pics shot by the seller. Thank-you everyone for all your informative posts that helped me reach my decision. And yes, I plan on carrying it every time I wear a jacket!

Now I need to order a Sparks VM-2 IWB and Ritchie VSS-S. OWB Holsters.

I know! Around here, Kimbers are considered high end 1911s. I remember mentioning the Kimber to an old partner I rode with and he said, "you're going to spend how much?" That's the first 1911 I ever held in my hand. A Kimber SIS Pro. I thought it was real nice. That was before I got on this sub forum and the 1911 forum. I've been ruined forever and I know it's going to cost me. Thanks guys.

Congrats, great looking gun from my favorite builder :)

My .38 Super Classic from Wilson went into "on order" status in Feb of this year, should be done soon now I hope.

You really should consider the Milt Sparks Axiom for OWB. My VMII has gathered dust since I got one. Really, get one of those too. Especially if you are already having them build you stuff.

It's funny that everyone here never had a single issue with any gun we owned until we joined Internet forums.
