It's been well over a year since I've found ammo locally. I went into my local walmart for a few things and found a bunch of .40, 45, .223, and 9mm!

Sadly I don't own any .40's and .45's, and the .223 was of poor quality for the price they were asking. But they had some off brand 9mm and a bunch of UMC 250 round packs for $50. I don't normally buy Remington ammo if I don't have to, but I know my 9's ate this stuff like candy last time I was at the range. Still though I could only muster up the courage to buy one pack.

I haven't seen 9mm locally for well over a year now. I hope I'll start seeing it more often.

    A YEAR??? :wow:

Wow, you are very paitent! I guess I just take for granted how often my local WM and Dick's has ammo in stock. The local gun shop that I pretty much exclusively buy pretty much all of my guns and everything else from always has a TON at reasonable prices too. So do some other shops within about a 30 minute drive from my house.

I am happy to hear you found some though! :wavey:

Hopefully, that is a good sign of things to come.

I've been fortunate to find some online, but I always prefer to get it locally.

    my walmart gets the ammo,

but they get it at 7-8 am and they are gone 10 minutes after it gets in,

they have plenty of rifle / shotgun but no real rimfire or handgun, except that rws premium orange box 9mm and some premium rimfire that costs more than center fire

Dude! I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and they had a bunch of 9mm for $9.47/box of 50!!!:wow:

    I was shocked!

I didn't have time to wait for the sales guy though, so I had to leave it behind. Hopefully it will continue to come in and STAY IN!

    TGG

Funny you don't hear reloaders complain about this.

Good for them. I'd reload, but I don't shoot enough to justify the start up costs. Though after each range trip I leave my brass in a box for those that do reload.

I buy Federal 9mm, ($9.47) .45 ($12) and .40 WWB (100 for $23.47) all the time at my local Walmart. Last time I was there they had 22 boxes of 9mm and 15 boxes of .45 and a few bulk boxes of .40.

They usually have .40 in Federal in every time I am there.

The ammo hits the shelf at my local store on the midnight shift, usually with the owner of the local gun shop waiting so he can buy it and jack the price up to sell it in his shop. Gotta love it. Thank God I have my little red ammo factory in my shop.

Seems like prices have stayed within similar pricing for quite a while here. Last time I bought 9mm locally I picked up 200 rounds for $40 and just today I picked up 250 rounds for $50.

If you're going to start a thread about ammo a Wally World, it has to include pics of your wife ofr GF. (Or both.)

    It's the rules.
