So, I got some Cabela's gift cards for Christmas so I decided to head over and pick up some ammo as I heard they had some deals going on. Well, when I get there I also see they had all new Glocks on sale, and this particular model caught my eye immdediatly. Yup, brand new 24C just sitting there begging to be taken home. I sat on the idea for a day and went back the next afternoon to make it official. I got one out of the back room and was just as shocked as the salesman was that they had 2 in stock. I just brought it home tonight (stupid IL 3 day wait) and can't wait to shoot it this week. I'll be shooting it side by side with my father's 2nd gen model 22 (pictured with my new 24C) and I'm excited to see how it feels with the longer slide and porting. Serial number has MXK prefix.

Very nice looking. Mine is not a "C" model and the S/N prefix is MTX. I bought it last summer, $629.99.

What is Cabela's selling them for now, if you don't mind.

I'm not even a Glock fan, and that is one schweet pistola. I got to fondle one at the latest gun show and it points like a revolver with a six inch barrel.

I had to buy it or run away quickly, but fortunately I escaped. ;)

    Thanks everyone.

    Congrats to you guys too!

The Cabela's by me first had a tag on there that said $789, which was a bit steep, but they had it marked on sale for $749, and when they rang it up it was $699. It just kept getting better, haha.

Yeah the biggest thing I liked was how well this thing pointed when I held it. I enjoy shooting polymer guns, as I have a Beretta PX4 storm in .45 and my father has both a G22 and an XD45, but this one just felt completely different than those that I've held before, as far as polymer guns go, and I really like that.

My 24C purchased in May 09 also has an MXK and the 24 I just bought used has a MTZ prefix. Since both models are considered discontinued by Glock they must have been done in the same batch.

Wow congrats! I don't have any personal experience with ported guns but I've heard not to use copper plated bullets in them, rather to use jacketed. Maybe someone with more experience could elaborate a bit more on that.
