I've been stubbornly loyal to 1911's for the past 30 years and finally bought a g19 this week. What the heck was I thinking all these years....love it! Now I'm making room in the safe for a 26 and 43!

The G-19 makes a fine carry pistol.
If you ever get a chance to shoot a G-17L, drop a few rounds down range, Love mine. I also have a G-17, & G-19, like the G-17L best. The G-34 is almost as long and easier to find.

    consider 10mm.
not quite as much fun as sex, pretty close to as much fun as you will have with your clothes on.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your 19. You're going to like it a lot. Opposite of you, I recently got my first two 1911s, a Colt Combat Elite and a Ruger SR191 CMD. I guess I too was missing something.[IMG]

Hmmm...never shot the 10mm. Could be another addition to the must have list. Feel a glock fever coming on!

Congrats. Go ask Tommy Lee Jones in US Marshalls on what he thinks about your 1911.

You can see in my avatar that I'm a 1911 fan myself. I will concede that the 1911 with a thumb safety and grip safety makes it feel like a big scary leap over to a Glock that's got none of that! Right? Then when you've owned a Glock for awhile, all of those initial doubts melt away as you you realize that a Glock is no different to carry and shoot then any other gun as long as you exercise the proper prudence in handling it, as does ANY gun deserve anyway.

    Welcome to the club!

Same as me, started with the 1911 and was intrigued by the Glock pistol back in the early 90's. You know Glocks and 1911's go together like hotdogs and apple pie. I easily switch back and forth between them.

All of my Glocks are 9mm (the only 9mm I don't own is the 17L) and all my 1911's are .45 ACP like God intended.

I also love my two SA M1911A1 .45s, but my G17 is my constant companion.

Congrats on the 19. As boringly common as they are, functionally, it is my all-time favorite handgun.

So many people who finally give in and try one say the same thing, I'm one of them now I own six. go shoot a g 42 yes it's the little wimpy .380 :) just absolutely love mine more then the 43 just because its so soft to shoot, get some buffalo bore sd ammo and it's a great carry combination. Like you my first one was a 19 I shoot that gun better then any sig , colt or any other brand I have tried over the last twenty years.

Try a 21SF, you will never go back to your 1911.

    Welcome to the family.

I have one of these in .45, won it in a raffle. It's the only 1911 I have.

I've only put maybe 50 rounds through it at most. I don't dislike it, I just prefer my Glocks.
