Don't forget to check the oil!
Based on those gas prices, I'd say that happened a while ago.
High, fast unstabilized approach, failure to follow procedures. The controller was also faulted for putting them in a bad position.
Can you imagine the feeling of standing next to your car pumping gasoline into it, surrounded by a bunch of other folks pumping gasoline and then see a 737 heading your way?
On the other hand, you might be so thrilled at the prospect of boarding a plane without a prostate exam that you wouldent have time to be fearful.
A few interesting stories about this crash/incident:
As some of you may or may not know, you are told not to bring anything with you when you are getting out of a plane after a crash. Well, there was a lawyer on board to decided to take his lap top with him. Even though all the f/a's were yelling at him to leave it, he carried it to the exit, and threw it down the escape slide. Well, as luck would have it, he hit the person going down the slide in front of him in the back of the head, and from what I understand hurt her pretty bad. Needless to say, the person sued, and got a nice check.
As soon as the plane stopped, the capitan was heard on the CVR saying "my career is over". He was right........and the career of the f/o was over as well.
And hopefully it was the lawyer that was sued and not the airline itself.
