Is there a way to set the computer so that all the files in the different folders show up the same way automatically (list vs tiles vs icons)?

Every time I create a new file or open one that I have not been in yet I have to change the setting of the individual folder to make it the way I want to.

I prefer to see all my files as a list to save space (lots of music and pics)

    Thanks.

Inside of Windows Explorer, set it up just as you like it (size, view type, etc.). Under Tools>Folder Options..., click the View tab and select "Apply to All Folders".

I then like to go into the Advanced Settings panel at the bottom of that tab and deselect "Remember each folder's view settings".

    That should do it.
