I'm a bit behind on my DVR so I think this was 2 weeks ago. They did a show on self defense techniques and I thought the show was decent.

They mentioned a palm strike to the pubis - the area that connect the pelvis.
I had never heard of that and thought it was a bit out there. I'm not too sure you could hit that specific area in actual combat.

    Anyone ever use it?

I also thought that was an odd strike. It seems that it could have some stun potential but I think I would choose other targets if they were available.

The strike was above the pubis which forced the internanl orans to compress behind and down and even/below the pubic bone. The body's expansion of the organs behind the pubic bone is what causes the damage.

they were not wearing belts and basically hitting were most men with jeans were their belt buckle. ouch.

the throat strike looks interesting though.

Gotcha. Has anyone ever used it?

I'm a strike the throat, eyes, ears, groin, knees person. I've just never heard of it and I'm no expert but I do keep up with a lot of this stuff.

I can't see such a strike affecting anything but the bladder and the rectosigmoid portion of the colon.
    Sounds kinda unlikely IMO.

The guy might piss himself or crap in his pants, but I think that might be all that would happen.

Compare the size of the pubic bones to the bones in your hand. Personally, I won't be using that strike.

you could rupture the bladder, if you hit it sufficiently hard and with the right variables, it couls cause toxic shock, eventually.

    TV....

Yup, I think I'll aim a few inches lower.
