Upon what lawful authority would the federal government impose a requirement of registration for any firearm I may (or may not) already own?
Last I checked, the US states that require firearm registration had not solved a single crime with said registration, while costing the taxpayer millions of dollars.
Likewise Canada, who is about to or just threw out their registration due to it's cost and ineffectiveness.
I know, I know, gun grabbers are not interested in fighting crime, they want to take away guns. One step at a time............
Frankly, I have never understood the point of registration.
If you are shot and killed with a registered firearm are you somehow magically less dead than you would have been had the gun not been registered?
Oh...but at least the police know where the guns are...
Okay. But how does knowing where the guns are prevent something from happening?
And if someone is hell bent on doing something bad, do they really care if the gun is registered?
Take your facts and reasonable, logical thinking elsewhere. The left is not interested in such.
Very good article. They want registration, control, then confiscation.
Again, but in condensed form:
"...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Exactly what part of this do these people not understand?????
You see, you're approaching this from the perspective of a peaceful, free citizen, who doesn't wish ill upon others. In that context, what Feinswine is proposing is completely illogical.
Her designs are solely to cement the power of the state over the citizenry. This is about incrementally ratcheting up the authority and control that the federal government can exercise over us, and usurping our sovereignty. In that context, what she and her partners in crime are doing makes perfect sense.
Modeled after the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic.
Welcome to the new "States of Socialist Amerika". In short: SSA.
This assumes all gun owners are potential criminals. I am offended.
Big gov more like communism every day. Now that we are in 2nd term roll over the working class let the government in D.C. roll out the rest of their crappy ideas to eliminate the average Joe's freedom.
i gotta go through this nonsense for d.h.s. clearance to drive an oil tanker. tell her to ask big sis for my info.
Registration, in my opinion, is to make it easier to confiscate weapons when there is a crime in an area. Somebody in my neighborhood gets shot by 9mm, the police will just look up who has 9mm handguns in the neighborhood and start knocking on doors and confiscating weapons ... in my opinion.
Registration also gives the government a nice big database they can peruse, at will, to perform all sorts of analytics. The possibilities are endless. Some examples: Who are my 18-24 year olds, male, with Glock handguns and AR-15's? Who, out of this group, carries concealed? Where is the highest concentration of 18-24 year olds, male, with Glocks or AR-15s. This information could be sold, also. Data/Information is the new oil in America. Information can never run out.
Registration preventing crimes? Never. It's just record-keeping. Nothing less, nothing more.
Feinstein is a gun owner, so registration and fingerprinting should start with her.
So has Flipper been out sick or something?
Political ramifications of foolishness. This is kind of disconnect that happens when we have politicians that have a net worth of $70 million+, are surrounded by armed guards, and travel via private jet and motorcade.
The real question is:
Is it possible that someone who, at one point stood on the 111th US Intelligence Committee and sampled a taste of the global situation through the worlds best intel organizations and whose parents left mother Russia due to Jewish persecution, actually be dumb enough to miss the political ramifications of what they're doing?
Answer: Remains to be visible, by going about it she has spiked firearms sales like we have all seen. Smart money says she is both surrounded by 'yes' men that are causing an epic case of group-think and most likely owns a butt-load of AR company stock to be sold once things calm down, capitalizing on the short term spike in sales via the pseudo-panic she helped create.
hmm...following the Soviets acronym protocol, we may be:
Union of Amercan Socitalists Republic. UASR
Go ahead @#$%! , bring the crazy so that NO ONE votes for it.
Shovel crazy like there's no tomorrow. Turn every gun into the NFA registry.
Now why don't you suggest that they all be locked up at police stations where the .gov will hold them for us for safekeeping, and we can only get them when we NEED them and of course they should determine that too, at which point we can come get them for a few hours with our ration of 10 rounds of ammo which is MORE than anyone could need. Right?
Make it super crazy and paint it in zebra stripes. Keep going! Even Chucky will hate it when its finished.
