Been using cheap Remington bulk packs and bulk federal from walmart and the gun is fantastic, I can actually hit 10 for 10 on a full sized shadow man qualifying target at 100 yards......\

Anyway, I just ordered 2 boxes of federal hst 155 gr.. Has anybody shot this stuff through their glocks? how did it do?

I wanted to move up in quality and performance over the walmart stuff.

I've used it, and it's great stuff, but I prefer to feed my G27 155gr Gold Dots.

    155/165 gr
    Winchester Ranger T-Series
    Speer GDHP
    Federal HST

Take your pick. They are all great SD rounds.
I too favor the hot Speer 155 gr GDHPs in my G27.

So you're going to be shooting self defense ammo out of a 27 at 100 yards to hit a piece of paper?

It's a hollow point, not match ammo.

Lots of great choices in .40.
The 155 Gr. Speer Gold Dot, 165 Gr.Winchester Ranger T series & 155 Gr. Federal Hydra Shock are top performers.
    But they are bonded.
So they will penetrate more than non bonded bullets.
    So take that into consideration.
As your liable for all rounds fired in self defense if they over penetrate bad guy or walls, windows etc hitting others.

thats why i wanted a middle weight round, and with a big hollow point to ensure expansion. i dont want maximum penetration, just great expansion and adequate penetration.
I feel from a liability standpoint, thats what you need.
After you let it go, it belongs to you, whatever it hits.......

It seems some of the test on the 'tube shows adequate penetration and great expansion from this round, but I also like an accurate and reliable round. I like real world experience from you gt-ers on what you think about the round.

My beat up ol' G27 gets carried probably more than any other Glock I own because it's so dang easy to tuck it AIWB and run into the store etc. Wore mine all day today and barely noticed it was there.

I prefer the Winchester Ranger T in 180 gr. Why? Because I get truck loads of it from work and shoot it at the range AND carry it for SD. In my locker I have some pretty huge expanded rounds that I recovered from water jugs. They're almost as big as most of my .45 rounds but came from such a small package. Gotta love the G27!!!

    Good choice.
Because if your not a Law Enforcement Officer, Police Officer, FBI, etc.
You better have lots of witnesses to back you up, in case of a self defense shooting.
Or accidental shooting with stray bullet.
As all them liberal lawyers will descend on you, like what happened to Zimmerman in Florida to put you in prison for years.
So think ahead, be prepared, and avoid confrontations.
Not lecturing you, just a concerned fellow Glock Talker.
    Best of luck !
