My understanding is that Q/C is tighter on Match primers, but I have not noticed a significant difference. I have also not noticed a significant difference between standard and magnum Federal SPP with any of the loads I use.
What do u mean by Q/C.... Quality control ? Sorry I don't follow:whistling:My understanding is that Q/C is tighter on Match primers, but I have not noticed a significant difference. I have also not noticed a significant difference between standard and magnum Federal SPP with any of the loads I use.
I would take what he meant as quality control, that too is my understanding of the difference. SJ 40What do u mean by Q/C.... Quality control ? Sorry I don't follow:whistling:
Supposedly, they are made on the same equip. The diff is the best inspectors check the the match primers, so they should be slightly higher quality. My take on primers; it can matter or not.As I suspected the only difference is the label .. When I think of match grade ammo I assume each charge of powder is exact . As for primers I expect them to put the same amount of care and quality in them all . But since their the same price I'll buy the match primers as long as their available
I buy them because I load a lot of 50ae and 44 mag..Supposedly, they are made on the same equip. The diff is the best inspectors check the the match primers, so they should be slightly higher quality. My take on primers; it can matter or not.
I work up a load with a given primer. Once the load is shooting well, I switch 2-3 diff primers, it often doesn't matter. Some rifles, some loads, there is a measurable diff in accuracy, but it's rare.
Btw, why are you buying mag primers? I will only use a mag primer if using slower powders & even then, in charge was above 45gr or so.
Depending on your powder choice, you don't need a mag primer for either.I buy them because I load a lot of 50ae and 44 mag..
W296 is all I use for those twoDepending on your powder choice, you don't need a mag primer for either.
Oh yeah, max effort stuff there.W296 is all I use for those two
