According to the linked article 9mm is what they are rolling it out in first.Probably not available in 9mm, which is already way to awesome!uttahere:
Looks like it's just going to be Federals version of the XTP, penetration at the expense of expansion. Just another sales gimmick from big ammo.View attachment 376898 View attachment 376897 just came accross this sorry if already posted

probrobly right.. looks like its designed for walmart shelvesWhy bother? With HST available in 50 round boxes at a reasonable price, what's the point?
Is this a way to sell 20 round boxes of mediocre ammo at 50 round box prices to those that don't know any better?
The "why" question always boils down to this: Federal is trying to increase its revenue stream. Why bother?
Without "big ammo", you would be throwing rocks at the bad guy.Just another sales gimmick from big ammo.
You are wise KalmahNot even available to the public yet, and already we have people pooh-poohing it.
I usually wait until a product has actually hit the market and has been proven to be a poor performer before I knock it. But apparently not everyone shares that same philosophy.
I hope it does well. Don't see anything wrong at all with having a wider variety of effective JHP options.
Agreed on choices/competition and expanding FMJ as an option. The "why" question always boils down to this: Federal is trying to increase its revenue stream.
As for the consumer, more choices and marketplace competition are a good thing.
Win/win.
What I would like to see is a return of an expanding FMJ round.
Without "big ammo", you would be throwing rocks at the bad guy.
No, not a bad thing at all; but is this new ammo the equal to, or better than, Federal 135-grain Tactical Bonded +P?I don't think another 135gr choice is a bad thing.
Or the Hornady 135gr Critical Defense / DutyNo, not a bad thing at all; but is this new ammo the equal to, or better than, Federal 135-grain Tactical Bonded +P?
I miss those less after reading the profession's opinion/experience on how those test medias are not analogous to the 'real deal' ballistics gel. The chrono results are nice sometimes thoughLooks like it's a deeper perpetrator than HST. I'll be interested in seeing tests.
tnoutdoors9? We miss you.
