I guess we are getting a bit top-heavy on threads like this, but a couple of the others got me thinking of this topic. What's everyone's favorite war movie? Any war, any theater. Just needs to be a movie based on or in a war. My favorite since I was a teenager has been and is Where Eagles Dare. Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton were in it of course, but a lot of other famous actors of the time were in it as well. I thought Clint Eastwood did an outstanding job in this flick. It was a clever story, great locations and scenes, plenty of action and intrigues. It had it all. There are so many Great War movies and many are better in many ways than Where Eagles Dare. I don't know why this movie struck such a chord with me when I was young, but it did. I enjoy it every bit as much to watch it today, as it did when I was a kid.
