My favorite revolver these days is S&W Model 629 (along with S&W Model 65).

The 629 is a sentimental favorite because I acquired mine from a close friend, and I was with him when it was purchased at a gun show many years ago. He was a huge Dirty Harry and .44 mag fan. He bought the 629 but never fired it. I’ve got the full box of .44 mag ammo he bought with the gun. I’ve never fired it either.

These are my only revolvers - I like each one got different reasons - but the 640-1 is my favorite!

The Model 27 in 5-inch is my favorite N frame Smith, and I like all the N frames but most especially the blue steel ones. Congratulations on your fine trio.

In my previous post, I made a mistake. The S&W is a model 14, not a model 17. Sorry, old age.

My five inch S&W 627 is my favorite. The 29-3 Classic Hunter is a close second.

My dad willed his nickel S&W 13-1 to me when he passed. The trigger rivals my old Mowry PPC gun and the finish is nearly perfect. I shoot my other wheel guns more, but this one is my favorite...

I've seen/owned, a lot of guns since I was 10 years old, and am now 69. Former father in law, was a federal firearms dealer, and I also, have seen and done a good deal all these years... That being said, I have 'never' seen a hog leg like this.. Very cool amigo.! ;)

Edited to say.. BTW... Congrats on your shooting accomplishments with this gun. Good job.

Me and a friend did the machine work and installing the parts. Mike Carmony did the action work. I have another one with a built in comp and a CMore for Open Division. I'll try to remember to post a photo of it when I get home.

My other one I haved up. I like shooting irons better than a dot so it doesn't get used as much.

No joy my first issued gun for the Florida Highway Patrol was a five inch nickel Colt Trooper. It was a very accurate sixgun. If that is what you paid for your Trooper you got a heck of a deal.

    Thx!
Yes that is what I paid for it in May.
1969 Trooper. I was very happy it still had the original grips. And the blueing on it is nearly flawless. This revolver shoots real nice; great trigger.
Shooting 38 special, it shoots 2”-3” high at 13 yards, but dead on with 158gr 357 Mag.
    She’s a keeper!

No Joy the one I was issued must of been 30 years old. The nickel finish was flaking in places and the screws would back out when I shot magnums. No telling how many Troopers it had been issued too before I got it. It was very accurate though. That was the old patrol. I wish I could go back and do it all over again.

Do you still have it now?
An old warhorse like that would have many interesting stories to tell.

Favorite (because only revolver I own) is a bone stock S&W 686 purchased new in late eighties. No need to buy any other - .357 Magnum perfection.

I do like snubbies of all brands. This is a late 50s Cobra the semi auto crowd left orphaned. 2D45982D-8072-4A4D-BA0C-87E5DB0C855A.jpeg
