I like "Gia Russo" Hot Scilian style , since that's about the only semi quality stuff around here. But I spice it up with my own extra ingredients.

I used to get my stuff via a old world deli in Chicago that made theirs fresh dialy and Old School from the motherland method. Nothing in any bottle in any public store even comes close from what I seen.

I'm using the Bertolli, usually the Olive Oil and Garlic, almost exclusively now...

I always doctor any sauce a little, but with Bertolli it's just been unreal...

    I haven't seen 5 brothers in a long time.

I used to eat a lot of the canned sauce as a poor college student. I can't even look at the stuff now.

Bertolli: saw a Food channel spot on it and how they make it only during season when their tomatoes are in. decided to try it, and we like it. It is a bit "tangier" than the typical jarred sauces, which taste a bit flat to me.

Agreeing with Knuckle, my favorite comes in a can, the Del Monte FOUR CHEESE sauce. Of course we add all of of our goodies to the sauce and simmer it down. We have tried LOTS of prepared sauces, but the FOUR CHEESE is tops for us.

Other than the convenience factor, I just can't see paying $6.50 for a jar of sauce. Local grocery sells 28 oz. cans of their own brand of plum tomatoes for a dollar. I could make five batches of sauce for $6.50.

None of them!! I ate so much tomato sauce in a jar and pasta in college that I can't stand it anymore. Now, I'll eat my homemade sauce or my mom's sauce anyday.

I'm not picky. Wal-Mart has something in a can for under $1. I buy that when I need some.
