I have a S&W Model 29 (44 mag) 6 1/2 barrel. A ton of fun to shoot. If you're looking for blast and fire coupled with a stout recoil you don't need to go much further than a 2 1/2 inch 357 mag revolver. I've had two 2 1/2 inch Pythons that barked a lot of fire. Fun as hell to shoot. I'd like to shoot a 454 Casull sometime but, I don't see that happening.

If you buy a S&W, closely check to see that the front sight is vertical. My 686P 5" from a couple of years ago had to be sent back to S&W twice, and they still didn't fix it. @$#)(^#)$^

I've had several 44 mags but the Ruger Super Redhawk is my favorite, tank strong.

I'll always love the Bangers. I Love the .454 Casull but I do believe my .45 Colt Vaquero is my favorite. With my H-110 reloads I can really bang with it.

On occasion I bring them out and Loosen some fillings at the range. The 300 grn Speer JSP's are a wonderful hunting bullet for them. Expansion, penetration, retention, they are serious Hog medicine.

Ruger Super Blackhawk 10 1/2". The long barrel completely tames muzzle flip and reduces recoil significantly. It's one of the little known secrets of the gun world. The gun is completely comfortable to shoot with the factory grip even with the heaviest loads. No need for stupid looking rubber grips.

That DE almost certainly weighs more than my bare (no optics) S&W 500 Mag. Don

4" Redhawk .44 mag and S&W 329PD (not fun to shoot though).

So while I am a fan of 44 mag a step up is my 12 Gauge Shockwave. With a laser I can aim accurately from the hip and it's freakin' awesome with slugs.
If it was a freebie I'd accept a 460 Smith revolver.

.357 magnum is plenty for me.

If I really want a hoot I have some Underwood 180g has checked hardcast solids that are as strong as I’ll never need.

I reload so I’ve been tempted to buy a .41 magnum. But I’m hesitant because I always stick to publisher loads and give myself a few tenths of a grain of safety buffer from the max loads so I don’t think I’ll get loads near its potential.
