I think Daddy won over another shooter, not Glock. :)

A friend of mine started doing this with his daughter a few years ago, and it worked wonders for her. She was very shy and introverted and had no self confidence at all. He started teaching her to shoot as a one-on one thing that they do together, and now she's happy and confident and a pretty good shooter. It's who you're doing it with that means more than what you're doing. Good show, sir.

We both enjoyed it. Great day at the range.

She shot all of the handguns we took: G19, G23, S&W Model 60 38 snubbie, and the fun little Ruger Mk II 22LR pistol.

Most excellent Ed! What a great way of spending time with family. My daughter is uber sound sensitive, a .22 is too much for her with plugs doubled up with muffs. I tried to convince my wife that she would be fine if each of my guns had a suppressor, but that didn't fly over to well. At least the boys show alot of enthusiasm for shooting.

I love the range time with my wife, daughters, and Son's wife. We will get an organized trip about once a year for shooting but when that's over no one seems to want to go alone. I really enjoy the girls with a gun. It empowering as h**l. I seems to be real good therapy for everyone.

You're doing a good thing.

Congrats to both posters. I think taking your kids/wife to the range is a great way to bond. I was six when I had my first experience with firearms.

I wish I could get my wife into guns. She has a unrealistic fear of them and when I finally talked her into going to the range after weeks of safety lectures and handling practices she squeezed off one round, put the gun down, backed up, and had a panic attack.

I will keep trying my best.

Make it so it is not an option... You must be prepared to live at any cost.

DO NOT be over the top.

This is necessary training, not much different than than saying no to drugs or strangers, except the POS just might get what he's really got coming. In a real self defense situation, a trigger may/must be pulled. I find that many people have a problem with the fact that when the gun goes BANG, someone may die, and knowing that, they might keep from doing what's right.

But he's business school, and nervous with the tools, so he ends up on his back in a bloody pool...

Ya, I try to be as understanding as possible. I think one day I might get through to her. She did hit the target in the shoulder area.

I will try to take her back and have her try a .22LR

My buddy got one for his G17. AWESOME!!!! First time I shot it I flinched a bit! I never flinch when dry-firing and thought I was steady with my .45's!!!!!! A .22 will definately help anyone. Shot a few mags then switched to full caliber. Back to dead center. Awesome training tool. Same trigger pull. The total weight of the gun is a little lighter. You'll make up the cost in money saved on ammo.

Won't work with ambi mag release 21SF. Need to find one for 30SF.

Seem to be hard to find. If you see one, snatch it up.
