No "Combat" or "Rat Patrol"?
Seriously slacking Brother.
Don't leave Whitey, he'll throw rocks at us.
Those shows were not available on TV in my area in reruns in the 70's when I was a kid. I either wasn't born or old enough to watch any of the shows I listed when they originally ran.
Interesting thing though ... "Combat" is one of my father-in-law's favorite shows of all time. He's Japanese. Apparently is was rather popular on TV there. Whether dubbed or subbed I don't know. But he's not your average Japanese guy ... retired Japan SDF, owns a couple shotguns and a bolt-action rifle, and is self-employed as a hot air balloonist.
I was going to add rat patrol to the list of shows. I used to watch reruns with dad on Saturday afternoon and I am an 80s baby. Beaver Cleaver is just funny I don’t care who you are
Lumpy Rutherford & Eddie Haskell lol!!
For some reason I remember it as an Austin Healey
I had a green plastic "Tommy Gun" (the one that went "clack, clack, clack" when you pulled the trigger) that I HAD to have with me when either Combat or Rat Patrol came on. Must have been 1966 or so, I would have 6ish.
Back then TV was a family thing and my sisters and brother (all older) would tease me about needing that gun to watch either show. Show couldn't start without me and my "Chopper".
IT WAS FREAKING "COMBAT". Of course you needed your Tommy Gun. Isnt that obvious? Sheeez.
The scene they cut out on the editing floor.
You look lovely today Mrs Cleaver, when I asked to see the Beaver.... well never mind.
I used to love watching rerun of Gidget.
In before someone lists every TV show ever made....oh, nevermind.
It's this sort of thing that keeps people up at night, (sigh).
Cue Hannie popping up calling us all sick or pigs lol.
Makes you wonder what June got up to during the day when the kids were at school and Ward was at work. I think we know how she learned jive.
I will still watch Trek or Batman if I catch one on. The HD update they did to Trek was beautifully done. Loved those growing up in the 70s.
Donna Reed was the bomb.
I forgot what dynamite legs she had when she was young.
I didn't just list them.
I categorized them.
How could you leave out "Petticoat Junction"?
I never watched it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just looked like Green Acres without the pig.
I grew up watching all those old show. And the women....man the women were just so classy, elegant, STUNNING and ladylike. I actually had a hard time figuring out how old they were. I mean, they were obviously young and smoking hot, but were just so mature. And their voices? Sexy voices without all that BS uptalking and vocal fry.
Now? You turn to just about any show and within 30 seconds sex is going to come up in some way.
Not even close. LOL
They were even hot in black and white.
I never missed:
My Favorite Martian
The Adams Family
The Outer Limits
Lost in Space
The Beverly Hillbillies
I Dream of Jeannie
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
... and more I'm sure. Makes for other threads though . . . The Twilight Zone vs. The Outer Limits, McHale's Navy vs. Hogan's Heros . . . and of course the Saturday Morning Cartoon Thread.
Call me odd, but Doris Day wasn’t that shabby.
