The Sandy Hook shooter (whose name I won't repeat) should not be on that list.

Yep. Henry Hill. I wonder what his final tally was.

Agreed, no need to give them more attention than they already have. I didn't realize so many died this year.

So "drug dealer, murderer, organized crime boos" are the qualifications for the second person on the list? The list is disrespectful to the decent people listed on it. However, it is typical, these days, for various scumbags to list a person famous for being a mass murderer alongside a person famous for being one of the first soldiers on the beach at Normandy and who left the Army with 3 purple hearts and a Silver Star before going on to a 60+ year acting career. I guess being known is all that matters - "Like Joseph Stalin and Ghandi" as the songs says.

I think you missed the point, as did the people at "bio" who don't know the difference between "famous" and "infamous."

When I think "Famous People Who Died in 2012," I think of people who did something to become famous BEFORE they died. People who lived a famous life, either good or evil.

While I don't think free speech should be limited, I'd like to see our culture respond by so shaming the memory of school shooters that no one WANTS to remember their names. The instant posthumous school shooter fame is a factor in the continuance of these tragedies.

If we treated them like pedophiles, we'd go a long way toward solving the problem. No one copy-cats a pedophile. How many pedophiles can you name off the top of your head?
