I was looking on a local gun sales sight and came across a "factory" two tone G20 2nd gen... I was under the impression that Glock never made a factory ss slide... He posted pictures of the gun and the label on the Tupperware (it says tu-tone)... He swears up and down that it was from Glock.

Is this factory??... Or have I just been living under a rock for 30yrs?:dunno:

I'd put my money on no, it's not factory. did he happen to buy it at a Gander Mountain? I know they had a bunch of police surplus ones that they re-finished in the same way.

I got a bit mislead by the title post as they have made 2 tone for a while, and this thread seems to be more about factory SS slides.

I have seen a couple glocks at shops and shows with SS slides. They don't even phase me anymore.

He took it in on a trade, but claimed he talked to Glock and they said they made plenty of these:rofl:

OMB has done runs with a silver slide a few times.
Glock does NOT do this, it's all aftermarket!

No worries dude. I figure I'm too new around here to be telling people what to do (or to be flaming them, haha).

Now on my Jeep board, that's a different story.

Anyway, are you looking at getting that piece?

Not sure yet... I'm trying to get the price right... He's wanting $525 for it and I'll be damned if I pay that much:wow:!

I just got a 3 gen black one with "only 50 rounds fired through it" for $425. 525 for the non-oem slide seems a bit steep, but what do I know?

I have a friend that told me his slide came like that from Glock also. I had never heard of it. Must of been a middleman in the process somewhere.

With the exception of the earliest one's, Glock labels have the word 'Glock' on them.....like 'Glock 17'.....and the guns serial number, plus info on what else is in the box. And Glocks only came with one magazine for a short time at the beginning of the assault weapons ban when they didn't yet have the required ten round mags, they were trying to stretch the small supply of full caps so they could keep delivering guns.

It was refinished after leaving Glock.

Sorry for further derailment of a topic but that damn two tone 18/full auto 17 has been in everything! I saw it in 24, The Shield, TDK, and something else I can't remember at the moment. Fox must own it.

Up until now I thought if you wanted a ss slide you had to take it to a shop. No idea Glock use to make them sometime back.
