New member here, saying hello and seeing if I can gather some knowledge! I'm new to Glock pistols and I recently purchased what appears to be a Austrian Glock model 22 gen 3. It is ornately engraved from the factory with gold leafing and even the barrel is engraved. This is really a work of art, but I know very little about it. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of it off hand, but will post some if needed. I wanted to know if these were a rare bird or a common occurrence. Anyone know much about these specialty factory guns?

It's easy to put the pics on a hosting service like Photobucket. Then, when u click on the pic in Photobucket just left click the mouse over the direct pic link to the right of the photo. It will say copied. When u post here, click on the image icon just to the right of the smile face above the grey dialog box. Paste the link to the photo and click insert. Sounds like a pain but it's easy. There may b a better way that others know. Would love to C pics of your gun.

It's not one of these but it does look similar.

There are not too many engraved Glocks out there, this is one of the first that show up on google. I remember when they were at auction.

Correct, the engraving style is different, but every factory engraved one I have seen has the same ELP serial number. I was told by someone that those were "Extremely limited production" and that's what the ELP prefix stood for. A close friend of mine has one engraved similar to the one posted in the link and also has the same ELP prefix.

I have seen a few other engraved ones while googling, but they appear to be done by other engravers to random pistols. I find it interesting that these all have the same ELP serial number. My date code is AOK and my friends is COW. Both are Austrian guns with the Vienna proofs.

You may want to call Glock and see what they know about them. That said, and w no offense to Glock, they are not like S&W, Colt, etc w historical departments. I've found that the folks that I've spoken to don't know a lot about older and rare models.

I have called three times and always get transferred to a VM. No one returns my calls. I have sent them a message on FB and hope to get a reply that route. My friend had more luck when he called. They confirmed that his serial number was a factory engraved gun, but had little other info for him.

I did talk to the gentleman that won the ID Glock 30th gun and he offered to send my pics and S/N# to his contact at Glock. He also provided a email for the Glock historical society that I emailed this weekend.

hopefully someone can tell me something about it!
