Fact: Unless your left handed there is no reason to buy a Gen 4 over a Gen 3. Sorry, but I had to vent some steam. Sick of hearing about the malfunctions, "break-in periods", changing the recoil spring, adding .0000009 in. of backstrap to get the right grip angle, etc...

The only andantage to a Gen 4 is for left handed shooters due to the ambidextrous controls. State some solid reasons other than "Because I want the newest, or Because I can" as to why you have bought or would buy a Gen 4, when the Gen 3's have virtually 0 problems out of the box.

Fact: the Gen4 frame fits my small hands and fingers better than a Gen3 frame.

I have a Gen3 and I'm not upgrading - but if I was buying new (now) the larger factory mag release appeals to me...

I bought my Gen3 G19 about a year ago. I contemplated waiting on the Gen4's, but I am now glad that I went ahead and got the Gen3. So far, I have about 750 rounds thru it with only 1 FTF, and that was the ammo's fault. I was using Prvi Partisan 124gr FMJ and after expelling the round that failed to fire, I could see that the firing pin had struck the primer. It fired on the second strike.

Fact: I also find the Gen4 grip texture superior to all earlier versions.

If you are happy with your Gen2, Gen3 or Gen3 RTF2 there is no reason why you should upgrade to a Gen4. It's not required, you know.

Glad to hear there's a man or two amongst you! My shooting partner is left handed, and the only major thing I can think of for him to improve his speed is lefty controls...

Fact: My G4 19 has been perfect out of the box.

Fact: I like the smaller grip on the G4. Impossible to get on a Gen 3 or earlier.

Fact: The Gen 4 doesn't slide around in my hand.

Fact: The Gen 4 slide is grippier than my Gen 3 26.

Fact: I like the larger mag release.

Fact: The Gen 4 .40's are softer shooting. The 9's too probably.

Fact: This thread is a waste of time.

My point is this, how do you justify the miniscule upgrades while sacrificing the Glock any-gun, 100% reliability history?

Fact: extreme positions are always going to sound a little silly to reasonable people.

Fact: Glock based the design of the Gen4 mag release on a piece of Chicklet gum. That reason alone is why Ill never buy a Gen4. Silly perhaps, but its my $ and my opinion.

Fact: Dual recoil spring will last more than twice as long as the single recoil spring in 9mm.

For guys like me with big hands the Gen4 G17 with the large backstrap was a plus and an improvement over the Gen3.

The fact that it was unreliable was a minus.

Sounds like someone is jealous because they do not have a G4 Glock. :whistling:
