I just received an email from "The Facebook Team". The email read that my password had been reset / changed and I was to click on the attached document for my new password. The attachment is not a document, but is a program.

The interesting part is that I do not even have a Facebook account, so I knew it was a fraud, but I thought I would check it out to verify.

Just a warning to you guys and gals because I know a lot of you do have Facebook accounts and you will infect your computer if you open that email attachment. Your best course of action is to notify Facebook if you get that email and forward the email to them. Do not even open the email.

Legitimate sites will never send you an e-mail like that. Any of them you receive like that are scams.

My computer never ever saw that virus. I let my mail server do the heavy lifting, then my gateway/security appliance takes care of the rest... (not "firewall").

plus, when you get an e-mail from them it just says it's from "facebook", not "the facebook team"... either way i haven't got this one yet but i'll trash it if i do.

I also got this email. I don't even have a Face Book account. They even had it in a zipped file to avoid virus detection. I just deleted it.

Sometimes I will... use VMWare and run Winders. It's actually fun to watch it get annihilated!
