I watch my wife and daughter tie up two of my PCs for hours reading which of her friends pissed or **** where and when today (with pictures of course) and go on and on and on and on..........for hours. Granted I spend twenty minutes on Glock Talk and a couple of other boards, but I usually gain some useful information, not when the members pissed or **** or trimmed their toenails. Let's step up and start reporting on bladder and bowel movements and please explain to me the fascination people have with Facebook.

your wife's having one of those "emotional affairs" online with an old flame on FB...

you don't really want to know what your daughter's doing on FB...

Facebook is not for Men to spend time on. It's for women. It's not meant for your so you should not be surprised that you do not like it.

I check my wifes facebook page from time to time to see what the rest of my family is up to, but mostly I just go over to their houses now that I am back home and say "Hey, whats up?".

    It's certainly a tool.

I am about the only person I know who doesn't do facebook, but I don't have any strong feelings about it one way or another. Simply put, I am anti-social so it isn't for me.

As far as I am concerned, the more that people are absorbed in facebook, the less likely they are to be a bother to me in real life.

I would drop mine in a second, but I use it to research all the damn recent college grads that want jobs. It is truly unreal what people will tell and show the world.

Who put a sprinkler under your slip 'n slide my man? While it bothers me when people are sitting with other people and choosing to instead engage in their FB world....overall I see it as a positive. At a time when it seems that people are otherwise drawing further into their little shells, at least they are interacting with people (or even simply a device) instead of staring at the T.V.

When people choose to opt out of real social situations or neglect tasks / activities due to FB then you may have a problem - like with anything else.

Yes it is. I check my facebook about once a month. Very rarely is it worth my time.

Facebook is whatever you make of it. If you are a shallow and self-absorbed person then your Facebook experience will be the same. Personally, it allows me to keep in touch with people that I would likely lose contact with if I didn't have it (military and other friends that now live far away). I would submit that many don't like it because it brings out the true nature of most people (self-centered gossips), but that's realy just the ugliness of people not Facebook.

I have a facebook account and log in about once every 6 months of so. I have nothing on my home page. I just use it occasionally to locate someone.
