Today I've noticed that in every Reply to posts that I've made, the Message box (where you type your text) has had a space character already inserted. That means that when I start typing, the first word (in the case of this thread, it's "Today") is one space over from the rest of the paragraph.

I started out the day by backspacing to rid the post of that space character, but by now (5:00 PM) I'm just ignoring it and typing on. So half of my posts today probably start with a space character.

    What's with the space???

I just noticed that although the space is there during the 'editing' phase of the post, once it gets posted to the forum it does not display. There's one right now before the word "I" in this paragraph.

Also interesting is the fact that if you go back into a post to edit it, the leading space character is gone. Freakish. And yes, there's a space character in this paragraph before the word "Also".

It's not just you....I've noticed the same thing lately. Weird;g
^ But no space shows up.

Edit** - Oh, and like you I've ignored the space and it doesn't show up in the post(see above ;))

Yep, I noticed that as of about a week ago for me. I dismissed it as a glitch in the matrix.

On a side note, thanks for letting me know that the space does not appear in the post. I have also been backspacing before typing in order to get rid of it.

Yep, same here. Too funny. I was backspacing too. I noticed the space about a week or so ago. I stopped backspacing the other day and I also noticed that it didn't show up. Now at least I know it's not just me. Thanks guys! ;c

Someday, there will be an upgrade to the vBulliten software and they'll fix the glitch. And then we'll miss it, fondly looking back to the days of "the space".

:) If you start off with a smiley, this won't happen. If you start off by inserting the cursor, tightly, into the upper left hand corner this won't happen. If you simply click the cursor on the text box, then, it will occur as you and several others have noticed. However, double spaces are automatically eliminated whenever typed, 'rough text' is converted to its final printed form. This editorial quirk is common to all v-bulletin formatted websites.

By the way, eliminating PM's isn't really the problem. The big problem is trying to unsubscribe yourself from only three or four threads. If you want to get rid of all subscriptions, just, press one button; and the job is done; however, if you want to eliminate, only, a few threads, then, you have to constantly go in and out of the User CP over and over again. But wait! What does all this have to do with making me a better shot with my Glock pistol? ;f
