Extra Mag?

i do myself, but i think it's more of a security blanket. from everything i've learned about self defense shooting you will very rarely if at all need the extra mag. home defense have typically involved more rounds being shot than self defense shooting on the streets. maybe some of the more seasoned experts can share.

 

This might actually be a good poll question...

I always pocket carry an extra mag... a G17 mag when I carry the G26 and a G20 mag when I carry the G29. Although, my wife gives me a hard time, no pun intended, when it starts printing.

 

How many of you drive a car without a spare tire?

You carry a spare for the off chance that you will need more ammo or have a mag failure.

 

Why not? You can go overboard with anything, but a spare mag just makes sense.

I do. I carry weak side in a IWB tuckable carrier.

 

Every time I put on a gun I carry an extra mag.

 

Always, dont want to have that AW S#!t moment, needing a re-load.

 

I also carry either a spare mag, BUG or both

 

I carry two spare mags and usually a BUG in my weak side front pocket.

 

Primary, BUG, + 2 mags.

 

One or two, we have "swarm attacks" one the rise down here.

 

Recently started carrying an extra mag. Got a DeSantis "mag packer" pocket holster. Carry on my left side front pocket. (I don't like that term "weak side!" )

i carry 2 with me....

 

Not always (unless I'm working) but depending on weather, dress, and where I'm going, I will carry an extra (I am now) and sometimes a BUG (always when working too).
