What's it looking like in your neck of the woods? I just ordered myself a G19 EXO b/c I've always wanted one...

I don't often see new ones in any stores where I shop. I went G19 b/c it's size efficient and the caliber will alow me to enjoy shooting it a lot!:wavey:

After purchase of my NIB Talo Special Edition EXO gen 3 G27
with Ameriglo I-Dot Pro NS last year. I Emailed Talo and asked how many EXO G27s with NS would be produced in 2011?

    Response was ~400 units.

It's a glock that has a slide refinished in a different material than the standard tennifer..

(Now you're asking yourself... So what?...... I feel the same way :whistling: )

    GLOCK EXO PROJECT

TALO is producing a number of Glock models with Fail Zero coated slides & barrels coated

    About EXO Technology
EXO Technology is a patented, nickel-boron coating from UCT Coatings, Inc. EXO Technology provides a hard, durable surface (40% harder than Chrome) and permanent lubricity to metal substrates, allowing firearms to operate without oil or grease. EXO coated components last longer, clean up easier, and require minimal maintenance, while increasing reliability in harsh environments (sand/dust, hot/cold, suppressed fire, frangible ammunition).

Certain models also feature Ameriglo night sights. Program began shipping December 2010 and will continue in 2011. The number & models of Glocks has not been finalized

EXO is not an acronym or abbreviation.
It's just a trademark name for the FailZero's proprietary
    self lubricating nickel boron finish.
    http://www.failzero.com/
FAILZERO tactical weapon upgrade parts are treated with UCT Coatings' patented, military-proven EXO Technology. This unique, breakthrough technology creates a permanently lubricious surface, harder than the substrate itself, which eliminates the need for grease, oil, or any wet lubrication for the life of the weapon. Unlike films, conventional coatings and applied lubricants, it will never rub off, never flake off, never build up crud. EXO Technology eliminates wet-lubrication failures of critical components, giving you an "active weapon advantage" under all conditions.

I like the EXO models. They are rare in my neck of the woods. Are these still being produced?

not to hijack yourthread but over theweekend I was at a gun show.A gentleman had a nickle Boron bolt carrier he is intending to market. I have never heard of or felt one made of nickle boron. After touching it I was amazed, it is an awwesome material, it washis proto type and didn't have a price for it. It felt as tho it had oil orsome kind of lubricant on it but nothing on your hands. Just realy cool, he also stated it would fire with out lube for 15000 rounds. gotta be expensive.

They were a limited run put out by Talo so I doubt you'll see any new ones but who knows.

If someone wants a gun or steel parts plated with Nickel Boron many platers can do it.

    http://www.ccrrefinishing.com/information.html

CCR calls it Cera Plate II

    CPII (Cera-Plate II):

CPII is a true composite plating process. It is an Electroless Nickel / Boron Nitride tank based plating system that incorporates Boron Nitride particles within the matrix of a phosphate system. Benefits include exceptionally low coefficient of friction, superior release and excellent wear resistance. CP II is perfect for applications that require the lubrication of Teflon but need more wear resistance. As wear occurs fresh particles of Boron Nitride are exposed continuing to ensure the lubricating factors though out. CPII also allows longer firing periods between cleaning and makes cleaning of your gun a breeze CPII is a multi facetted plating process that offers outstanding rust and corrosion protection Up to 10 times the protection of other plating such as Nickel/Teflon and Chrome CPII is far from your standard plating it is a true composite plating process that is made possible by the breakthroughs in Nano Technology CPII is also an Eco friendly process. CPII is the color similar to a Bead Blasted Stainless would look CPII will be available for steels. We do not plate anodized alloys.

Exactly. Is a magical mysterious refinishing job where pixies fly and and seal the guns pores with eagle feathers and baby tears

I work at a pretty big gunstore in the suburbs of Chicago.

    We've had EXO's for about a month now & I think we still have a 17, 19, 23 & maybe another model. They didn't do we'll selling here compared to the FDE's we have/had.
