It's ok if they touch you, but you'll go straight to jail if you touch them. This surprises anyone?

We don't refer to them as officers anymore, but they are still out of line.

The airports need to hire private firms for security.

That's the way it was before 9/11. TSA was formed because the government thought they would do a better job than the private security already in place.

If I was her I think I'd demand a jury trial...good luck to the State Attorney who thinks he can seat a jury that will convict her. The TSA isn't exactly held in high regard.

Not sure, but I think it is actually a federal crime, not state. Maybe somebody that knows more can clear it up.

As to the originial post, sign me up for the "Don't touch my junk" security line.

Well, everyone in our government fumbled for about two years leading up to 9-11. And don't get me started on the hijackers' list the FBI/CIA put out. They gave us photos of them boarding planes, IIRC, in an Alaskan airport terminal on 9-11, then, the FBI/CIA, with the mass medias' help, kept repeating that the these photos proved they hi-jacked planes originating out of Boston (x 2), Dulles, and Newark.

You know, this would be hilarious as a cover-up story if so many people would not actually have been murdered and killed as a result of what occurred on and since 9-11.

The airlines need to hire their own screeners, and set their own security criteria. Supply and demand, free market etc.

Let the people decide how much "security" they will put up with.
Too little, planes go down, and peoople will pick a more strict airline. Too much, and people will choose an airline that is less hassle.

How would this work at really large airports where multiple airlines share gates, terminals and other common areas?

Hum... hope she opts for a jury trial. I'd vote to acquit her even before retiring to the jury room! In fact, I'd vote to find the tsa officers and their supervisors/administration guilty of gross stupidity and sentence them to wearing sandwich boards in front of the airport confessing it to everyone.

But....but.....the contract between me and the airline is superceded by the need for protection from tuhrerists. That's why granny needs a cervix exam.

This is the way this government works now.

Whatever they do to you is OK, you have no recourse with them.

    All hail............what's his name.
