    Some toys I had back in the day. Even took some to school. They were taken away by the teacher but returned to me after school.
    Today such a toy taken to school would result in suspension or expulsion.:upeyes:

    I had one of those cap grenades until the kid down the street tossed it as hard as he could straight up and didn't think it would come right back down on his head.

    Still remember his name, Scott Shoesmith, because he was my sworn enemy for life after that idiot got my grenade taken away.

    I had all the rage for the mid 60s growing up. Mattel's Thompson with snub nose .38; Johnny Eagle Magumba scoped rifle; the Man from Uncle's Walther P38 with stock, scope, silencer, etc, etc.

    Sad we have become such a ********* country.

    My Dad had a toy 1911 he ordered from a comic book ad when he was a kid and he passed it down to me when I was a kid. It was under the Johnny Eagle brand, I guess it originally came with some little spring loaded cartridges but those had been lost by the time I got it.

    I looked forward to every single recess time! I knew all my little friends and I would be able to get our toy guns out of our backpacks to go play cops & robbers, while the teachers just looked on and laughed as they watched us kids having a fantastic time.

    Now I would get suspended, expelled, or worse... arrested. Sad.

    :rofl::rofl:

    You sure he name wasn't Scott Holyhead??? Wow.

    They made some great guns in the 60's and 70's. My friend had a ring-cap gun that was a break-top. Worked great. I traded him for it but gave it back the next day when he realized his foolishness.

    I remember the cap grenades. They also had these missile-type cap grenades. They were about 4" long - basically a mini Jart with a round end. You'd load a cap in and toss it into the air. Fun stuff.

    I've perused the old guns on Ebay a time or two and considered psending some coin to get a few good-condition-but-well-used items for my son. Marx and Topper before we knew who Mattel even was!

    I remember a strange toy called 6 Finger. It was a toy gun shaped like a finger that you held. I still remember the jingle going '6 finger, 6 finger, man alive. How did I ever get along with 5'.

    I remember my favorite toy gun was the Napoleon Solo gun from the Man From U.N.C.L.E. show.

    I had a sqeeze firing pistol that fired hollow semi soft plastic/rubber bullets. That thing felt like getting popped by a paintball gun at close range. I kept that thing since i was 9 years old. Fast forward to 3 years ago at which time i foolishly discharged it at my wifes behind. I no longer have posession of that particular weapon.
