Apparently my fiance is trying this stuff. Me not knowing what it is, soaked my contacts in it without the counteractive metal part. If you have ever put this stuff in your eyes or know what it is. You know what kind of pain I expierenced.

In very small print it says, dont put in your eyes. Read that after I put it in my eyes. I seen it said contact solution and it said no rub so I went for it. I didnt know such thing existed. Basically without the metal neutralizer, its pure peroxide.

Ive had Jalapeno juice in my eyes before but this stuff was 1,000 times worse. :crying::crying:

Lol, my wife had done that on accident....i don't even think the full brunt of the drop had hit her eye and she was screaming! Yeah that the same as the other kinds you can drop to rewet your contacts while they are on your eye. I use the RENU no rub and put that in my eye.

The worst eye accident I had was last year when I was trying to put some Visine drops in my eyes to get rid of some itchiness. Except I wasn't paying attention and I accidentally grabbed the ear wax dissolving drops.

We had a guy drop a 12 volt battery that didnt have the cell caps on it. Acid got into his eyes. He didnt just have red eyes, he had terminator eyes when he was done.

That sounds painfull but allow me to raise the bar a bit.

While fixing one of my kids toys with super glue and getting real close to make sure I had things just right, the two pieces slipped. Somehow a splatter spit out and a tiny droplet managed to land dead center of my eyeball.

I can't describe the pain I went through. There was a lot of screaming. My kids heard the most foul language come from their dad's mouth they had ever heard before. My wife almost called 911. I thought I was going to go blind but not before I bled to death from my eye socket. I spent the next hour with my face under the sink trying to wash away the pain. The intensity of the pain didn't become manageable until after about 45 minutes. The first ten minutes were the worst though. The initial strike lanced like a needle and intensified as if the needle was connected to a 220 power source. It was during this first ten minutes my wife picked up the phone and kept saying to me. "What do you want me to do? What do you want me to do?" My kids were trying to hug me and were both crying hysterically. Everyone though I was actually going to die.

True story. Every bit of it. Apparentely super glue won't glue your eyelid shut. But I would'nt try it again for a million $'s. This is what we should be doing to our Gitmo detainees instead of waterboarding. We'd probably get more information out of them that way.

Lasik = no more contacts. At your young age you should do it and enjoy 15 years (plus) glasses free before presbyopia catches up with you.

Then there was the incident a few weeks ago when I was moving logs around in the fireplace and a hot ember flew out and landed in my eye. Not actually in the eye, but in the corner and burned the skin as it took me a few seconds to get it out. I got real lucky. A millimeter or two over and I'd be learning to shoot left-handed.

Doc, you need to get out more. Been doing it FDA approved for 10+ years, I got mine done 7 yrs ago, still 20/20 both eyes. NOT new technology. Betcha have way more MP3's than CD's for music. THAT new fangled technology is about the same age as Lasik.

you missed my whole point tom.

    My point was this.

They are improving lasik more and more. Getting it to las way longer then when it was first introduced. The procedure is now non invasive compared to how it was first done.

All I was saying is that I am going to wait a few more years and see how many more advances come along.

LOL Dr. House, I did that same exact thing when my wife and I were first married... it was what she used and I didn't know about the catalyst thingy.

Kids, don't try this at home.

I am allergic to all the cleaning solutions. Way back when I wore daily wear lenses, I had to clean them in a paste of saline and baking soda. I do not miss the pain associated with that time in my life and I swear the daily wear disposables is the best thing man ever invented.

I got undiluted Pramitol in my eyes once. As bad as it hurt, it wasn't as bad as the taste--just the smell of it gives me an instant migraine!

Glad there was no lasting damage, eyes are fragile.

On the other hand, I bet you never make that mistake again.

I once made some Mexican style salsa dip, which involved cutting
up about 3 cayenne peppers on a cutting board with bare fingers and
a knife. Dip made, mess cleaned up, wiped hands with rag as they were
already washed and clean. Went about my business.
About 10 minutes later nature called. Got done, zipped up, left bathroom,
just then a slow burn started, uh! oh!.
About two minutes later full effect going, like it was dipped in "Deep Heat"
with a touch of Tobasco. After several agonizing minutes it started to
ease up and about half hour was almost gone.
I get a little shiver every time I use cayenne's, but I never did that again.
And no milk or Ice Cream does not work there.

I have got super glue in my eyeball too, and you're right. It hurts like hell.

It was followed by me getting my eyeball literally "scraped" by the doctors and many trips to an eye specialist. They did a good job, though, I still have 20/20.
